The south West monsoon touched Kerala coast yesterday bang on schedule as predicted by the met dept. All the talk about global warming in the last couple of months grabbing prominent real estate in every tabloid and magazine makes this occurance even more significant.
Is the weather really changing? Is the world going to experience irreversible weather patterns human kind has no reply for? Are these non seasonal rains in Delhi and Snowfall over Dhauladhar ranges at this time of the year just a minor abberation or a reality - Can the weatherman be trusted on this-or it is about time we do something beofre "The day after tomorrow" befalls upon as a foregone conclusion!

a common question these days......but put in a "unique" style.......nice!!!
and its a good time to talk of global warming too.....u r in a big chat room........
keep them coming....
Ah! what do we have here? Heres our foot soldier from New Delhi, India...Sid has finally decided to be the first Indian Citizen to join the "Global Warming Awareness Crusade"...A remarkable feat, our Doomsday Prophesier sings in unison with the likes of Stephen Hawking, Mikhail Gorbachev Leonardo Di Caprio ("The 11th Hour"...his latest documentary at Cannes '07), Al Gore ("An Inconvenient Truth")...Kudos to the brown skinned kid...a century on debut, really!!
Nice thought, Sid. Aberration or not, Delhi-ites are surely not complaining...with the supercool summer, so far. On a lighter note...The Day After Tomorrow Syndrome would allow New Delhi to experience (unprecedented) snowfall...so that we can let go "Kashmir" and make Delhi..."The new Jannat-e-Hindustan". Vision 2050 Winter Olympics, anyone!!
Although, this isn't the most compelling take on the subject of Global Warming, Siddharth Chaturvedi deserves a pat on his back for making an important and timely argument that all of us must heed...cheers!!
I have a feeling it might be too late already!
foot in the right direction.....
